Our Foreign Extra Stout salutes the old-school chromoly steel hardtails that started our love affair with mountain biking and beer. Pedal to the metal with herbal hops that balance a heavy frame of dark chocolaty malts.

Aug 04, 2025 (6/4/6/3/13=3.2): Poured from 473mL can (pkg 23 Apr 2025). Near black with small beige head. Toasted nuts, light roast, prefer this a lot more on tap.

July 14, 2025 (7/4/7/3/16=3.7): Poured from the tap. Near black with small beige head. Chocolate and roast malt, light hop bitterness on the finish. Well made.

473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a small, creamy, long lasting, tan head that leaves curtains of lace. Semi-sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and a hint of smoke. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, cherry and ash in a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft to average carbonation. Enjoyable.

Nice deep blacl body but it lools a little thin, modest foam. Good sweet coffee on the nose, caramel, smooth. Taste is more smooth sweet coffee, dark biscuit, ends dry with good carbonation. They pretty much nailed it for this style.

Dark brown. Thin head. Has a thinnish, husky, fudgey note. Thin, a bit smokey. So a thinnish, smokey stout...nothing foreign stout about it...if you can get past the thinness there's decent flavours here.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dry cocoa, light toasted malt, and a hint of smokiness. Flavour is along the same lines, with light cocoa, toasted malt, and some chalk. Soft and uncomplex on the palate. It's okay.
