On tap at Swans, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma is loaded with lots of smoky peat upfront, with a touch of bready malt. Flavour is wonderfully peated, with a perfectly calibrated peat smoke, gentle residual sweetness and a touch of caramel bready malt. This is beautifully rounded. Frankly, an excellent smoked lager.

Nice soft smoked notes. Clear gold with a decent white head. Nice smoke, manure and a bitter bite.

On tap at the brewpub. Smells of good musty forest cabin and logger's shoes, just as a smoked beer should. Has an okay coppery gold body with very little foam on top. Flavour is smokiness but it doesn't shine through, too much soft lager drowns it out into the background. Mouthfeel is full enough but too sweet for a beer like this, it needs some dryness like that fall cabin smell. It's an okay smoked attempt but needs more effort.

Poured from the tap. Mostly clear copper brown with off white head. Mild caramel malt with very light beech smoke. Fairly simple.

Bright golden-amber. No head though. Nose has mellow beech smoke. And a touch of caramelly malt. On the palate, the malts are still a bit sticky, still a bit of fruitiness but if course i still like the beech.
