Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol, 4 October 2022. Medium brown in colour, with a moderately-sized, off-white, head. sultanas, dark chocolate, slightly toasted, malts, touch of brown sugar and gentle, vaguely boozy, finish. Enjoyable.

Handpull cask at the Blue Boar, Leicester. Dark brown and opaque with a ring of khaki head. Aroma of sweet liquorice with a little bit of smoke. Taste is sweet as well, getting notes of molasses with the liquorice. Little balance even in the finish, this is a very sweet beer. Oily body, soft carbonation. Not surebthis is a mild but man is it nice.

Half-pint, cask at the Plough. Almost black in the the glass. Naked at the surface, dotted spots on the glassware. Lightly roasted malty smell, hints of chocolate. Malt-driven taste of liquorice, prunes and chocolate. Lightly roasted ending. Nice, a tad too sweet though. (Worcester 29.06.2019).

Cask at the Wellington; dark brown pour with a bubbly tan head, aroma has dark roast and a hint of coffee, taste has tart dark fruits, very sweet, some liquorice, big ABV doesn’t really work.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines and Spirits, Birmingham. The aroma is rich and fruity leading into a nice warm chewy slightly bitter rich English Ale flavour. A super beer. Mild has really moved on.
