Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Smooth palate, a little soft. Smooth bourbon with no real heat or spice, quite fruity and well barrel rounded. A little rye tang in there. Smooth barrel wood and vanilla. Malt cream and a whisper of caramel. It’s all very fresh and fruity and vibrant which makes is very easy drinking indeed. A joy!

Bottle as shown. Pours a dark amber with medium frothy beige head that last diminishes quickly. The aroma is toffee, caramel, and a faint funk. Medium mouthfeel with a dark fruit flavor and chocolate with nice light funk in the finish. Easy to drink, hiding the alcohol well, a very good American strong ale from Hebrew.

bottle - This one’s a dark amber brew with an aroma of dark fruit accented malt. The flavor is very sweet and it’s almost sticky. There’s some bourbon noticeable but the thick, rich malts are the dominant characteristic. It’s a good brew, but blending so many beers, some of which are already beers with a very high number of different malts and hops, makes this one maybe a bit on the messy side. Good, not great.

22 ounce bottle into snifter; Batch 1, bottled on 3/6/2012. Pours nearly pitch black; hazy very dark brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big raisin, fig, date, caramel, molasses, toast, toffee, dark bread, chocolate, rye, bourbon, vanilla, oak, light pepper, and roasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity, malty, and barrel notes. Taste of raisin, fig, date, prune, molasses, toast, toffee, caramel, dark bread, chocolate, rye, bourbon, oak, vanilla, light herbal spiciness, and roasted earthiness. Lingering notes of dark fruits, molasses, toast, toffee, chocolate, rye, bourbon, oak, vanilla, and roasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice flavor complexity and balance of fruity, malty, and barrel notes; barrel strength is just enough without being overpowering; with some slight cloying sweetness present after the finish, but not bad at all. Light-medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a very slick, creamy, and lightly chalky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent barrel blended strong ale! Great balance and complexity of fruit, malt, and barrel flavors; and extremely smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

Pour is a dark brown with a medium sized head. Aroma is of dark fruit, some vinegar and caramel. Flavor is again dark fruit to start, then comes some molasses and red wine aspects. FInish is some of the wood from the barrel aging. This is a nice slow sipper with a little something each sip.

Bottle shared with and courtesy of Kermis. Poured almost black with a thin tan head. The aroma is rich ripe raisins and generally fruity. The flavour is sweet rich fruity Christmas pudding spicy and the alcohol give it some sharpness on the palate. A really awesome beer!
