Bottle shared with Joes and Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color, no real head, just a slight beige lacing. Smell malts, some sweetness, slightly coffee and roastyness. Taste malts, dark malts, roastyness and bitter. I also detect a slight hint of wood and alcohol even though the ABV is quite low. Weird. Not bad though.

Bottle @ joes thx to benzai. Dark brown to black colour with a minimal beige to brown head. Smells coffee, dark chocolate, sweet, great. Tastes coffee dark chocolate, milk, roasty. Thin to medium body, soft carbo, but a long lasting taste.

33 cl bottle (5,5%) @ olio, bottled 03.07.2012, BBE 03.04.2013
Aroma is stale and rather hoppy with gooseberry bush, roasted notes and ash. Flavour has hops gooseberry bush, some fruitiness, nettles, ash and roasted notes. Closer to a black IPA than porter.

330ml bottle

5.5% ABV version, bottled on 03.07.12, BBE 03.04.13 - Pours dark brown with a nice large and foamy light brown head. Aroma of massively fruity hops, some roasty malts, hints of cocoa and ash. Taste is ashy with notes of roastiness, grains, some hints of cocoa and hops. Finish is grainy with notes of hops, ash and roastiness. Decent, a bit unbalanced porter.

Deep broxn head with a brown rocky head. Lovely looks. Aroma of hops and malts, but hops are surprisingly well pronounced. Heavily bitter flavour. Nice.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. Pours black with chestnut brown head. Nose and taste of smoked black malt, milk chocolate, light lactose sweetness and hints of vanilla. Medium body. Finishes slightly dry.

Bottle at home, from the brewery bottled 03.07.12 @ 5.5% ABV - 01/01/13. Pours light black with a thin tan head that attempts to form a full film but can’t quite manage it! Nose carries hops, pine, dark roast malt, touch of minerals, chocolate. Taste comprises dark roast malt, very hoppy and piney for a porter, liqourice, dusting of cocoa. Medium bodied, a little on the watery side for 5.5%, dry finish. Decent porter.

Some hop buds come through the roasted malt aroma. Initial flavour is also hoppy. Then roated bitterness of burnt malts and a slightly smokey finish. Hops come back in the aftertaste.

Bottle shared. Pours almost black brown with a tan head. Aroma is hop forward, surprising for the style, seems like sorachi ace. It overwhelms the chocolate and light coffee in the background. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
