Bottled@The Kernel (BB 02/2012, ABV 6%)
Dark almost opaque borwn color, good creamy brown head. Toasted malty, a bit chocolaty aroma. Medium to full-bodied. Toasted malty, a bit oven(?) roasty, coffee, solid maltyness. Stylish porter with enough ABV to backup. My first ever The Kernel beer, nice to have at the brewery premises.

My bottle claims only 5.8% Pours seemingly viscously deep red-brown to black beer with yellow-beige medium head, remarkably even. Rich coffeecake nose, black chocolate and mocha; and finishing on tobacco ashes. Ultra dry, near-cardboard & ashes dry taste with coffeeish or coffeechocolate bonbon flavours. Warming up, strange, if restrained aromas of both mint and manure. Thinnish MF, with gristslickness backthroat. Chocolate fills the palate. Nice, likeable, if bonedry Porter. Any drier, you mummificate. Txs, Jezza!

Bottle at home with Drew and Elena. Pours dark, reddish brown with a sturdy, off-white head. Lightly roasted, chocolate malts on the nose. Very smooth flavor, semi-hard malts, light coffee, char, some good roast, mild demerera sugar, slight nuts, mild bitters. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes medium roasty, quite ashy with charred wood, mild malty sweetness, and mild leafy hops. Great beer.

500ml bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury, This version was 6.8% ABV. Very dark brown/black with thin tan head. Big heavy chocolate on the aroma. Very drinkable malty chocolate beer. Some dark fruits on there too. More juicy than dry. Donโ€™t care if you call this a stout or a porter, but it is really pretty good. That is a really tasty beer.

Bottled. A brown beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of caramel and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and cocoa beans, leading to a dry chocolaty finish.
