Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel, launched in 2010, is an intense beer, dark in colour and full in taste.
The aroma is elegant, spicy and slightly roasted.
The sophisticated blend of special kinds of malt give the beer a complex character, combining a delicate dryness with hints of cariander, dark fruits, anise and roasted chestnuts. The palate finishes in a syrupy taste. The refermentation in the bottle creates a living beer that will evolve over the years.

2016 bottle drunk January 2020. Light brown frothy head left a thick creamy cover on a very dark brown still body. Huge rich aroma of malt, demerara, dark spirits & spices. Medium to full bodied feeling thick & creamy on the palate with a pleasant tingle down the throat & a clean aft. Taste is much as the aroma with malt, brown sugar, blackberry, caramel & tangy orange finish. Banging!

bottiglia 33 cl, bel cappello di schiuma color cappuccino media grana persistente, color marrone, al naso malto spezie vino porto, in bocca è liquorosa caramello uvetta sotto spirito noce e zucchero di canna, carbonazione decisa, corpo strutturato, alcool l'alcool si sente ma non disturba, dolce con amaro accentuato lungo nel finale. Flesje thuis gedronken. Robijnrood tot donkerbruin bier met stevig beige schuim. Aroma is zoet en fruitig. Smaak is zoet en koffieachtig. Nasmaak is iets bitter en kleverig.

Bottle 0.33l. Cloudy, copper colored. AROMA- pleasant alcohol, dark fruit. FLAVOR- lightly sweet, lightly bitter, smooth alcohol, fruity - plum, litchi, cherry, cherry liquer, touch of licorice. Full bodied.

Pours a clear dark brown colour with a small tan head that quickly settled to a thin layer. Aroma is fruity, ripe dark fruit, plum, raisins, caramel and malty bread. A moderately sweet fruity flavour, again ripe dark fruit and caramel with an alcoholic warmth in the finish. Nice.
