Straffe Hendrik Quadrupel, launched in 2010, is an intense beer, dark in colour and full in taste.
The aroma is elegant, spicy and slightly roasted.
The sophisticated blend of special kinds of malt give the beer a complex character, combining a delicate dryness with hints of cariander, dark fruits, anise and roasted chestnuts. The palate finishes in a syrupy taste. The refermentation in the bottle creates a living beer that will evolve over the years.
EBC 100, 22° plato.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a very very dark brown colour with a reddish glow and a huge foamy beige head. Nice lacing. Aromas of dry dark fruits, liquorice, chocolate, floral, spice, with hints of caramel, vinous notes and alcohol. Taste is similar to the aroma with more of the same notes, fruity, spicy and a slight earthy bitterness on the finish. Full bodied with a silky slightly oily mouthfeel and a long dark fruity and spicy aftertaste. Well balanced. Although warming the alcohol is very well hidden. A complex beer that has lots of depth and flavours. Great Quad and not too sweet which i really like.

Well stored bottle. Perfectly looking clear, deep amber body with a big creamy tan head. Wonderful aroma of dark malt, caramel, dry fruit and spicy Belgium yeast. Flavor is sweet and vinous with everything from aroma in a perfect balance. Fine body and long lasting aftertaste. Nice, tasty and super smooth.

Bottle. dark amber color. Hint of pear drups in the aroma. Medium to full bodied. Alcoholic. Malt, pear drups and a hint of cologne in the flavor. Lots of warming alcohol in the aftertaste.

Bottle pour at Mussel Bar & Grill in Arlington VA. Poured a very dark brown color with a fluffy, brown head. Aroma was caramel, toffee, sweet dark fruits. Chocolate, light roast, warming alcohol. Really nice.

Malty, a bit spicy, and super bubbly. I wish I could post a gif instead of a pic. Usually elves on their labels, but I like the moon man mo.

Lovely vinous most, funky in a classic Belgian way.
