Beast From The Far East has been cellared for some time, I am not sure how long. The bomber does indicate a bottling date of 12/22/17 so here we are now. I have rated Clown Shoes beers significantly more than any other brewer, rarely a false note along the way. My New Belgium large tulip glass will be used on this one, I see a dark-as-pitch body with a momentary nut-brown head. There is the scent of chocolate, some dark fruit and pecans. The drink gives an obvious hit of the coffee on top of dark chocolate, malt, scorched toast, black plums and a taste of hard alcohol. Slightly sweet, dense and chewy, right in my strike zone. About as good as it gets from Clown Shoes.

Bottle from Total Wine, Texas
Black colour. Nice aroma of bourbon and chocolate. Medium body strength, moderate chocolate aroma, some roasted malt, light tar, quite strong bourbon, and some alcohol feeling.
Very good.

Dark brown. On the nose, this has a nice chocolate aroma, with a lot of bourbon. On the palate, sweet and full bodied. Lots of bourbon, just a touch of alcohol in the finish. Nice balance to this. A good chocolate, bourbon stout.

22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels upfront, with earthy coffee and medium roast. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of bourbon barrels, spicy coffee, and earthy roasted malt. Nice rounded bourbon barrel character, leaving soft coffee notes. Excellent.
