Troubadour Westkust is a dark, almost black tasting beer with notes of hop, roasted malt, coffee and subtle hints of chocolate and vanilla. The taste is a balance between roasted malt and coffee followed by a strong but pleasant bitterness that slowly becomes more persistent and creates a long hoppy aftertaste.

Donkerbruin bier met schuim. Smaak is bitter hoppig met wat rook, wat citrus en karamel. Degelijk bier wat mij betreft.

33cl bottle at Cafe de la Gare, The Hague, The Netherlands. Pours dark brown, with very fine, light brown foam. Aroma is coffee, earthy, citrus. Body is average, with moderate carbonation. Taste is medium-high bitter. Final is fairly long, with some bitterness and aroma.

Bottle. Pours hazy dark copper brown with stable light tan head. Clear aroma of hops and citrus, with notes of yeast and touches of malt. Bitter, hoppy, roasty and nutty flavour with touches of yeast, caramel and malt and citric and fruity touches. Roasty and estery aftertaste. A nice one. Tastes like something between a Black IPA and a Brown Ale.

Very dark brown beer, thick off-white head. Smell is fairly mild, some malt, maybe a bit of chocolate and some toffee. Taste's delicious. Malt, chocolate, caramel, a little dried fruit, maybe a touch of anise and just a little boozy warmth. Smooth and a decent body to it. Very drinkable.

Bottle from Belgiuminabox. Pours a very very dark brown almost black colour with a large very thick creamy beige head. Nice lacing. Beautiful looking beer. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, nuts, some dark, citrus and tropical fruits and hints of herbs and spice. Taste is fairly nutty, more chocolate, caramel, some roasty notes and some citrus hop. Full bodied, very smooth slightly oily mouthfeel and a fairly long roasty and citrus hop bitterness on the finish. Complex and beautifully made beer. Excellent.
