As the name suggests, we’ve used just one variety of hop in this pale golden ale. Brewed with just low colour Maris Otter malt and a little wheat for head retention, we’ve selected some of the more “interesting” hops that we haven’t used before and added several bucket loads to each brew. The first brew is made with the Polish hop “Lubelski”, a very noble hop indeed. Expect a beer that’s not too bitter with plenty of spicy notes.

Hazy gold beer, little white head. Light dry palate. A little fine carbonation. Bitter floral flavour, trace of lemon. An astringent something I can’t quite place, some green fruit skin or something! Dry finish. Quite a bitter hop. Interesting!

Bottled. A hazy yellow beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of straw and malt. The flavor is wet hay, paper, and malt, leading to a dry cardboardy finish.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines and Spirits, Birmingham. Cloudy yellow pour with thick frothy white head. Nice fruity aroma leading to a lovely refreshing peppery hoppy bitterness with some sour notes on the palate. A super beer.
