Tasting at Oakes' Manor
Black ink colour; brown frothy head, short lived. Mild aroma, bread and chocolate. Very smooth, round mouthfeel, sweet; dark chocolate first, roasted malt then, with strong character of burnt sugar in the finish.
Very good, a bit too burnt.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt upfront, with some light cocoa. Flavour is quite hot, with lots of alcohol, soy sauce, cocoa and toasted malt. A bit too much soy, but this works well.

Dark brown, without much head. Some burnt dark sugars on the nose, with a bit of alcohol. The body is relatively light, and there's a lot of that burnt sugar. This also ends up with some vanilla sugar, some molasses and maybe a little bit of nuttiness.

Boozy dark roast. Deep jet dark brown with a small brown head. Dark bitter roast and chocolate with a long bitter finish. Heat on the throat and a long bitter finish.

A deep dark stout with a thick frothy mocha head. In aroma, sweet chocolate malt with dark fruits, molasses, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with light coffee notes, light vanilla, light peated notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. On tap at brewery.
