On tap at Callister, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out medium roast, with a touch of rather abrasive hops. Flavour is rather abrasive, with vegetal notes, a tsunami of messed up chemicals, and a touch of toasted malt. Did Real Cask brew this?

Dark brown, medium head. There's some molassesy and some burnt notes. These lend some fruitiness, though maybe in the wrong way for the style, which should emphasize esters. Light body, low bitterness for the style...though one could reasonably argue that it's more of a Caribbean interpretation. Not 100% clean, though.

On tap at the brewery. Aroma is sweet coffee and roasted barley. Has a good black body. Flavour is heavy sugary coffee and barley notes. Mouthfeel is full enough though sugary. It's a passable stout but there are so many better ones in the area.

Black colour. Not much aroma, but at least there is some dark malt and bread. The mouthfeel is soft, no carbonation, not sure this is the best choice for the beer; but it has some nice dark malt flavour, dark bread, light smoke, and very light residual sugars. It doesn't feel at all like a 8% beer. Weak finish. I like it, I wish it was more daring.
