A blend of seven barrels, this Brett Saison is fermented with French Saison, Farmhouse and Belgian yeasts. Aging in red wine barrels with Brettanomyces Lambicus and Brettanomyces Bruxellensis for over a year adds pineapple and cherry aromatics, along with a touch of earthy brett quality. The wine barrels contribute raspberry and cherry notes along with a dry oaky finish, making for a flavourful and complex brett beer.

Tasting at Brian's
Cloudy amber colour with almost no head. Very strong wood character, tannic, vegetable, harsh, with some fruit. Vegetable finish.
Unrefined, messy.

650ml bottle at Brian's. Pours a hazy copper with a tan head. Aroma is phenolic with barrel notes. Taste is the same, quite harsh. Meh/.

Hazy and amber. With a bubbly head. The aroma is mostly this sort of dirty feet thing. On the palate, a touch of brett. Honestly not much going on here - it's just a sort of a tart beer, with a touch of brett, but built on a base of yeasty, flabby malt that goes nowhere. I guess they gave it an extra year to try to save it, but it didn't work.

Funky Brett and barrel notes. Cloudy gold and copper with a small white head. Light Brett, barrel and just a touch of vinous notes. Decent.

Aroma is good brett yeast with some caramel and pepper. Has a modest head and cloudy brown body. Flavour is good sharp brett yeast with wild dark grain equivalents thrown in. Good balance on the mouth. This is my kind of beer.

650mL bottle, pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out red wine barrels and lots of brett funk. Flavour is complex, with lots of lovely brett funk, light wood, and red wine barrels. Wonderful funk and barrel character. Surprisingly impressive. Excellent.

22 oz bottle poured, courtesy of Matt. Thanks! A reddish, dark orange pour. First impressions bring out a big cherry on this. Brett and funk dominated aroma. Love the cherry note. It sits above a red wine constant. I can see a sweet and tart red raspberry flavor here too. Dry, wine like finish. Interesting beer. Enjoyed this a ton.
