This big brown ale was aged for 2 months in an oak foeder and incorporates a trifecta of sugars including our house made candi syrup. Wild and untamed, this full bodied beer starts out sweet and finishes with notes of clove and nutmeg.

On tap @ Rattle N Hum - Bear Republic Tap Takeover. This one's from 2008! Pretty cool being able to try this. In the glass this is a really dark looking on. Deep dark brown looking with a small dark beige head in the top. Oh, this smells pretty amazing. It's really woody tart sour, it has tones of sour red fruits. Lots of nice sweetish oxidation and a little bit of alcohol. Really good smelling this! Oh, my it's delicious tasting also! It has a lovely oxidation that binds the flavor wonderfully together. It sweetish cherry like, lots of old earthy blueberries that's been blended with vanilla, butterscotch blue plums and cranberries. A soft saltiness also present. Lots and lots of flavor here! A wonderful tasting slightly scary one. 17.06.2015

Draft. A dark chestnut colored beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, yeast, wood, and wine. The flavor is sweet - a bit too sweet, with notes of malt, caramel, spices, nuts, yeast, and wood, leading to a dry spicy finish.

Draft, Dark amber beer with a light tan head. Sour, light green apple aroma. Sour flavor with some caramel malt, light green apple, and light acetic notes. Medium bodied. Sourness lingers with light oak, green apples, and light malt.

On tap. Dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy light brown head. Distinct aroma of strong licorice. Quite full-bodied, lots of hard roasted malt and fruit and again licorice. Hard roasted malt finish. Unusual but delicious. 110709

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown with a huge tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and complex Belgian yeast fruity. Sweet fruity yeasty and with a nice roasted malt flavour. Very fruity yeasty. Lasting fruity phenolic and sweet finish.

On tap at Bulldog. The waitresses were insisting on only halves or ’regular’ sized servings. No Pints. They freaked when I did order a regular and then a Pint. Of course I regretted it the next day, but man, this big malt, molasses filled brew is dangerously drinkable. Smooth, touches of chocolate and brown sugar. It is very deceptive and numerous non-beer geeks in our group got quit loopy. Loved this stuff. Will seek out again.
