473ml can. Pours an opaque black with a large, foamy, short lived, brown head that laces. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earth, vanilla and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, lactose, cocoa, molasses, vanilla and coffee in a dry, mild bitter, warming booze finish. Medium to full body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Not really getting any coconut notes, but still pretty solid.

175mL pour at the brewery taproom. Pours black with a tan head. Tons of cocoa, lactose, and vanilla on the nose. Flavour has slightly bitter cocoa powder, wafers, vanilla, and lactose. Full-bodied, though erring on the side of being sticky. Quite tasty, though not particularly complex or subtle.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of black chocolate notes with some coconut and vanilla notes. Taste is also a mix of black chocolate notes with some coconut and vanilla notes and residual sugar notes. Body is a bit thin for style with good carbonation with no alcohol notes that are discernible. Enjoyable pastry stout but maybe would benefits from a fuller body.

Smells softly of murky fresh barley with a bit of unroasted coffee. Has great nitro beige foam on top of a pitch black liquid. Flavour is really nice coconut and barley, with hints of coffee and chocolate. Mouthfeel is very full, very swift. This is a great stout, the abv is invisible and all the rest is pretty good too.

Re-rate: poured from the tap. Near black with minimal beige head. Coconut, feint coffee, chocolate. Comes together nicely, seems they’ve definitely amped up the coconut since I last had it (or maybe having it on nitro last time messed things up). Enjoyable. Jan 30, 2019 (7/4/7/3/15=3.6): Poured from the tap. Nitro. Black with full tan head. Toasted coconut, lactose, dusty chocolate, mild coffee. Decent blend of flavours, but everything needs to be amped up a little bit - the volume feels like it’s at a 6.

Sharp roast and lighr cream. Great balance here for a beer kind of like Guinness but better. Pours black with mocha head and lacing. Bitter end. Tap at Alibi
