Our-award winning Russian Imperial Stout is a dark, strong, bracing brew with roasted malt and dark fruit notes. Now, we've aged it in oak bourbon barrels bringing out vanilla and dark caramel flavours, as well as a distinct bourbon influence.

Medium with a bit of haze. Sort of phenolic - sort of a harsh, cheap bourbon character. Not even bourbon. Just random American whisky. Sweet, with a lot of bourbon, and a limited toffee malt note. It's ok. But this isn't really that powerful - the base beer is light, and the treatment isn't really doing a whole lot to make it better.

Bottle - Lots of cocoa. Deep murky brown with a small beige head. Cocoa and some milk chocolate. Very cocoa forward.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of bourbon barrels, some wood, and medium roast. Flavour is very light and half-hearted, with light roast, a touch of barrel, and some vanilla. Very light-bodied and lacking substance. Not so impressive.
