The character of stone-fruits, berries, tropical fruits and pine are all evident from the liberal use of North American hops. Firm and lasting bitterness on the finish satisfies, hides the alcohol and increases the beer’s drinkability.

A golden ipa with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with resinous floral hops, piney notes, light dank notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel malt with resinous floral hops, treacle, light butterscotch, OK. On tap at brewery.

On tap at Sooke, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is robust, with caramel malt, resinous hops, and a bit of stone fruit. Flavour is a bit too malt-driven for my tastes, but it's decently balanced - with caramel malt and piney hops. Smells better than it tastes - too sweet and caramely, despite the high bitterness on the finish. Alright.

On tap at the brewery. Has a soft floral armpit aroma with sugary vegetable hints. Soft copper body with a hint of foam. Flavour is big juicy hops, heavy on the sugar, with a soft malt kick. Mouthfeel is okay but sugary. It's not a bad IPA though a little too blunt.

946ml can shared with my brother-in-law. Pours a slightly hazy copper-bronze with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, generic citrus, pine and floral hops. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, lemon pith, grapefruit rind and pine resin with a dry, bitter, floral hop finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Decent.

Bronze colour, slight haze. Thin head. The aroma is chewy, crackery - too much malt but at least it’s fresh. Medium bitterness, nice mellow piney notes. This is an old school unexciting IPA, but the execution is really good.
