This beer is an amalgamation of styles; brown/porter/APA. Five distinct malts, including two from Belgium, give this beer added complexity and depth. We also add oatmeal to this beer to give it a smooth texture not usually associated with this type of beer. We add large amounts of American finishing hops to give Bender a citrus hop aroma because... we like hops. This is a session beer weighing in around 5% alcohol and 25 IBUs. Grab one today, we think you will want another!

Draught @ Mikkeller & Friends, Copenhagen
Pours reddish with a small white head. Aroma of vegetables, berries, cold coffee, mild roastiness and syrup. Taste is smooth, syrupy and mildly roasty with some cold coffee, chocolate and syrup. Finish is sweetish and a bit stuffy with some cold coffee and syrup. A bit unbalanced and feels a bit off.

Aroma has berries, strong malty tones and hints of cocoa. Flavour has berries, malt, some toffee and hints of minerals. Not sure about the style but this feels like doppelbock.

Can, shared at my 5K tasting. It pours deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is toasty, coffee, woody, caramel, cocoa and dark fruits. The taste is toast, wood, caramel, earth, raisin, varnish, brown bread, coffee, toffee and some dark fruit/berry with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. A solid, rather drinkable brown ale by all accords.

Can (canned 12/30/13) poured into a nonic pint glass. Pours dark brown almost black with just over a finger of light tan head, good lacing. Much better head and lacing than Coffee Bender. Aromas of caramel, toffee, sweet malt, light vanilla. Tasting notes of sweet malt, caramel, toffee, some dark fruit, bits of milk chocolate, subtle coffee, light piney hops. Creamy mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Pretty nice, definitely can tell the differences between this and Coffee Bender.
