Keg at Tooth & Nail, Ottawa. Black, rich beige head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Dryish with medium to full body and rounded mouthfeel. Potent chocolate and coffee. Mid bitter finish. Excellent, non pastry flavoured stout.

On tap at Bar Lupulus, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is loaded with rich roasted malt upfront, roasted coffee beans, and a touch of cocoa. Flavour is rich with deep roasted malt upfront, a bit of coffee, and just a touch of cocoa. Really nice roasted malt character that hits all the right notes and is balanced with just enough residual sugars. Excellent.

Small can (thx, Tyler B!) shared with wife. Pours a very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt with some ink and chocolate notes. Similar taste with leather notes. Good one.

Can from the brewery. Pours an almost black colour with a frothy mocha-coloured head, good retention and lots of sticky lacing. Coffee aromas over roasted malts, molasses and dark fruit hints. The taste seems quite mild with the roasted malts and a little coffee. Really, there's 9.5% ABV. in here ?? Very, very smooth. Nothing out of this world though.

A deep dark stout with a thin lacing brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light molasses, dark fruits, smooth coffee notes, vanilla, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a beautiful sweet fruity chocolate malt with loads of vanilla, coffee, dark fruits, plums, alcohol warmth, light licorice, very nice and satisfying. On tap at brewery.
