Oyster Stout

This beer was brewed during our Brewers Row Collaboration launch party with fresh oyster shells supplied by @merchantsvan and @bigshucker. At 6.2% this Stout is on the lighter side, perfect for spring. The oyster shells provide a slight salinity and softness which balances perfectly with the light, dry roasted nut and chocolate notes from the grain.

On tap at Twin Sails, pours a deep dark brown / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out the oysters with a pretty pungent kick, with a slight toasted malt base. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of oysters upfront, bringing out a prominent briny tang. A bit too much oyster for my liking, but I can't fault it for that. Solid execution.

Brown, kinda hazy, no head...doesn't look like much of a stout tbh. Soft chocolate notes, fudgey, decent body but lacking in balancing bitterness or, alternately, malt complexity. Drinkable bit mostly misses what you'd want in an oyster stout.

Draught at the brewery without Farees
Dark brown colour, opaque, no head. The aroma has some roasted malt, it's lightly cheesy. Soft mouthfeel, there is some residual sweetness, mild roasted malt flavour, a touch of chocolate, light salt, no fishy smell/flavour.
Good Brown Ale.

Draft - Dark roast and chocolate. Dirty brown with a small head. Cocoa and some roast with a nice finish. Oysters don’t come through.

Taster at the brewery with Farees. Pours a dark murky brown with a weak beige head. Aroma is coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate notes. Taste is similar with some fruitiness and chocolate notes. Very smooth and quite silky. Good one.
