Cask @ The Old Hand & Diamond, Coedway. Much better (and sweeter) than I remember, served nice and cool. Easy-drinking with a sturdy malt base and a subtle toffee sweetness. Harmless and sessionable.

Cask at Counting House, JDW, Edinburgh. Dark amber pour, slight haze, creamy white head. Quite light hop aromas, and sweet caramel sugar. Taste is more of the same - a bit sticky - not as hoppy as I remember from pre-rating days. Might be me though. OK.

Cask from The Orchard. Clear amber body with a thin beige head. Light lacing. Aroma of brown bread and nuts. Flavour of earth, nuts and caramel. Thin to medium body with an oily texture. Flat carbonation. Very drinkable but dull. Tried only because it’s referenced in The Cuckoo’s Calling.

[10/1/13] Cask at John Baird in London. Clear nice deep reddish amber. Aroma of earthy and slightly citric hops, some malt, a bit of caramel hints and faint nutty notes. Flavor has a bit of malt sweetness with a hint of caramel, mild toasty notes, light fruitiness, spicy and earthy hops and a finish with moderate bitterness. Quite nice and easy-drinking.
