Clear copper pint which takes a little while to settle with a thick creamy head. Aroma is of faint hop. Initial flavour is a blend of hop and malt with a very light sweet edge to it. Finish is practically nonexistent. Drinkable but rather average.

Cask at the Cormorant. Deep amber orange color, rine thick head. Earthy, caramel nose, tobacco too. Flavor of orange, lemon, grass hops, bready malt, some caramel. Fruity, herbal, and earthy. Pretty good.

Cask @ Castle Inn, Faversham. Clear golden body with a small, creamy, dense off-white head. Light malty aroma without much more. Decent neutral malty flavor with some fruity bitterness. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Rather ordinary, straight forward bitter.

Cask @ Shakespeares Head, Soho, London. This was the one cask on at the restaurant upstairs. I wasn’t allowed to bring beer from the bar downstairs, so I’m not sure how much they have to do with each other. Light hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and light hoppy. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet finish. 240413

Appearance: Clear copper color with a small off white head.
Aroma: Malty, cooked vegetables, yeast and mild fruity.
Palate: Medium light body. Slightly sweet and a low bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: Mild caramel malty, yeast, soap and light fruity.
Overall impression: wtf….very thin and a horrible yeast and soapy taste.

On cask at Sherwood Inn, Rainworth - Amber body, rich and consistent white head. Not overly bitter but with a nice dry finish. Some sweetness in there as well. Okay pint really, surprised I’d not rated this one as I’ve had it loads of times.

Cask at the silver cross Westminster . Caramel brown short lived creamy head. Sweet caramel malt aroma with faint apple. Nutty, caramel malt . No detectable hops. Sweet.

(cask@ The Summerfield, SE London) Dark amber in colour, medium white head. Medium body, fruit and malt aroma. Taste is caramel malts, and slight fruity hops. Ok, but nothing special nowdays (does not taste as good as I remember a few years back)

Draft at the Prince of Wales, Wooten Basset. Pours a medium copper colour, with a thin white, short lasting head and no lacing. Not so much in the way of an aroma. A slightly peachy, caramel flavour. Quite smooth, but with a hint of bitterness on the palate. A typical English session bitter, brewed to be served warm and despised by much of the world, but has many fans back home! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
