Melvin Brewing, out of Jackson Hole Wyoming is known for hoppy beers, so when our friends came to visit we thought what better way to showcase our mutual hoppy skills than to make a kick-ass hoppy Double IPA. We used Apollo, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops to create this kung fu hop potion. Sensei says Enjoy!

Amber, bright, medium head. Aroma is gooseberry, citrusy, light pine. Bright, sweet, again light fruits with some of the sweeeter, brighter citrus accents.

Can from the brewery (thx, Alex!). Canned on 2018-01-17. Pours a slightly hazy pale copper with a tan head. Aroma is tropical fruits, caramel with some dirty meaty notes and slight booze. Taste is similar, with the same dirty meaty notes on the back and high piney hoppy bitterness. An ok.

Draught at the brewery
Hazy light amber color. Mild aroma of malt and resiny hops, lightly dank. Mild residual sweetness, caramel flavor, lightly grainy, with resiny hops, a bit herbaceous and pithy.
Good and well brewed, but an old style of IIPA.

On tap at Yellow Dog, pours a hazy dark orange amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out loads of resinous hops, light pine, and caramel malt. Flavour is on the malty side, with lots of resinous hops, sweet sticky caramel malts, and a bitter finish. Sweet, sticky and bitter finish. Rather harsh and lacking cohesion. It's good, though a bit too malty and messy.
