A collaboration with our great friends at Agro Roasters. Dusty (Agro) and David (Powell) came up with the idea of brewing a non coffee, coffee beer. In order to achieve this, they decided to use Cascara (Dried Coffee Cherries) which lends flavours of tea, dried plum, cherry, and tamarind.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy blond color. The base is a lean but sticky, mellow, watery American Saison, it has a light biscuity and fruity touch too, may be the Cascara.
An ok beer, not in my chords though.

Hazy pale tan. Bit of a sticky, phenolic aroma. Similar palate. I don’t have mich experience with cascara, but I don’t get much. So a sticky, simple new world saison.

On tap at Powell, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is very laid back, with a touch of earth and no real hint of saison yeast or the coffee. Flavour is likewise pretty muffled, with light earthy coffee, subdued saison yeast and fruity esters. This is a puzzling one - the coffee doesn't really come through and it's quite muddled on the palate. Lacking depth and character. It's okay.

Draft - Light estery fruit and light pepper. Cloudy gold with a small white head. Fruity sweetness and a nice fruity finish.
