Upfront is an aroma that is tart, fruity and funky. The backbone behind this beer is the yeast. From Norway and not very common but becoming more known are these Norwegian Farmhouse yeast strains. Known for being fermented at high temperatures, up to 40 degrees Celsius ( i know! In Norway?) this yeast ferments fast and clean with some really cool esters like mango and pineapple so matching that with some fun Australian hops and a funky PNW hop just seemed appropriate.

Poured from the tap. Hazy blonde with small white head. Light citrus with floral hops and some mild astringency.

Cute white foam sits on top of cloudy yellow. Has a funky citrusy juice aroma like ipa on it, hints of saison. Flavour is juicy pineapple and orange. But still with the dry finish! A nice brew, fruity and fresh and well brewed.

Blonde, hazy, med head. Touch floral, dry hoppy herbal. Bit husky but decent.

Taster at the brewery. Pours a hazy blonde with a white head. Aroma is very fruity with stone fruits and tea notes. Similar taste with low to moderate fruity hoppy bitterness. Fairly pleasant in small quantities, but not sure if I can drink much of it.

On tap at East Van, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals light floral hops, such esters and subdued saison yeast. Flavour is very confused, with earthy floral notes and muffled yeast. At least there are no esters. Uncoordinated and not too pleasant.

Draft - Light Grapefruit, some petroleum and orange peel. Cloudy yellow gold with a decent white head. Some peel and a long soft note with no discernible citrus note.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy blond color. Nice aroma, fruity hops, peach and a hint of tropical, getting a bit earthy later. Good mouthfeel, moderate residual sweetness, nice funky and woody character from the yeast, that blends with the orange peel from the hops, moderately astringent, with a long and bold finish.
Balance of sugars and yeast character, with the hops.
This one hit a soft spot.
