A Hef base with a touch of my sourdough baking techniques transformed into a beer. Toasted Buckwheat and Golden Naked Oats give this beer a unique nose with our house yeast adding a bit of tartness and citrus flavor.

Poured from the tap. Buckwheat with a hint of lemon and feint weird funk. Effort marks, but not quality.

Nice foam on top and good clear light gold body. Soft lemony dry white bread aroma. Flavour is funky grain with citrus notes and a dry finish. Pretty nice, well made.

Hazy pale, big thick head. Estery, wonky-fruity aroma. Sweet, blandish...not sure what I should get from buckwheat but not necessarily getting it.

On tap at East Van, pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma reveals the dry, crisp buckwheat upfront, without much else noticeable. Flavour is very much the same, with lots of laid back buckwheat. Just enough hops to dry this out and provide some bittering. Solid, but unexciting.

Draught at the brewery
Cloudy blond color. Swampy yeast aroma, light, more common in North America Hefe than Europe, so probably it's the yeast strain. Dry, crispy, with a different touch from the buckwheat, finishing dry and with low bitterness.
Simple but refreshing.
