A dark ale brewed with chocolate malt, caramelized sugar and orange peel, Lekkers smells and tastes like dessert, but it finishes drier than you’d expect. The slight sweetness is just enough to lure you back for another sip of this deliciously more-ish beer.

On tap at Dageraad. Pours murky brown with a beige head. Very nutty nose with notes of Belgian yeast, dark sugars, and some orange peels. Flavour has a nice Belgian yeast character, very nutty, like cocoa, candied orange peels, dry dark sugars. A nice dark Belgian beer.

Poured from the tap. Hazed copper with small white head. Feint dark fruits and Belgian yeast with just a hint of orange. Simple, decent.

On tap at the brewery. Quick disappearing head sits on top of a dark brown body of decent opacity. Good sweet dark chcolate on the nose. Flavour is crisp brown sugar with a hint if barley. Rather dry finish but it still comes across as a little thin. Just okay though not amazing.

Growler at Josh's on his 20k party. Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt with some weird tart notes. Similar taste. Total meh.

On tap. Pours a very dark brien with light head. Aromas of yeasty chocolate and wet malts. Flavors follow same with a little spice. Have to think hard about orange; can’t really get anything.

Draught at 12 Kings, Vancouver
Dark brown color with compact head. Some aroma of caramel, dark malt, like. Thin body, caramel, no complexity, some soapy spices.
Weird. Not very good, random acts of adjunct-brewing.

Dark brown, just a thin head. On the nose, sweet, figgy, light spice. Soft malts, a bit more bubblegum phenols than I’d prefer. Nice to see someone making these types of distinctive, esoteric styles, even if the concept is a bit of a gimmick.

On tap at 12 Kings, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out spicy Belgian yeast upfront, followed by burnt sugar, and dry biscuity malt. Dry and yeasty, with burnt caramelized sugar on the finish. Very solid stuff, but not terribly interesting; just a solid dark Belgian ale.
