As Precursor Belgian Dubbel at the brewery. Okay deep copper body and some average foam. Kind of a bitter grape must aroma, fruity malts. Flavour is soft malt, slight chewy biscuit, slight brown sugar syrup. Mostly dry finish, yet ends thin. Middling.

Draft - Raisin and dark plum. Deep murky brown with a small beige head. Plum, raisin and some light earthy notes. Touc( of booze in the finish.

Amber-bright, just a touch of chill haze. No head, though. Soft bubblegum, sultana, maybe some golden sugar in there. Soft body, bit sticky and boozy. Phenols up front - plasticy and bubblegummy. More dominating on the palate than on the nose...grk. See now that’s not what I want in a dubbel.

Draught at the brewery
Dark mahogany color with medium head. In the nose some caramel, candi sugar and tiny notes of liquorice. Some caramel flavor, but not enough body and not enough malt depth, very light residual sweetness, the yeast has bubblegum traces, and it’s quite boozy in the final. Clean at least, but requires different malting and real Belgian yeast.

On tap at Luppolo, pours a hazy chestnut brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out fruity esters, Belgian yeast and a little bubblegum. Flavour is estery and phenolic, with lots of undesirable booziness upfront, followed by candied sugar, bubblegum and a big estery quality. Not authentic and rather harsh. Not disastrous, but not well-calibrated.
