Fort George Fresh IPA is like beer in 3D - without those silly glasses. Within 24 hours of harvest, over a ton of wet Simcoe hops from Loftus Ranches were transported, delivered, and packed into the brew tanks. Using fresh hops means bold and unblemished hop oils make their way into each can. We seal in that freshness, creating a time capsule of hop aromatics. Pure canned triumph. When you break the seal you should expect hints of citrus, resin, and fruit to flood forward, followed by a piney, earthy, complexity.

Can thanks to Chris! Pours hazy golden, tons of small suspended particles. Medium creamy off-white head, dissipates slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is perfume and pine. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, perfumy, pine, spruce, hint of citrus and cat piss. Light body, oily mouthfeel. Different and solid.

Unknowingly, I thought it was a DIPA and poured it into a snifter, woops, next time, if I get a chance again I’ll make sure it’s in a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking golden orange color with a slim half finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. Filmy lacing clung for a brief second and then slid.
The smell had an authentic sweet sticky citrus to orange/clementine glossed over to sweet onion, slight grassy.
The taste was sweet and bitter, not combined but pummeling to the taste buds. There’s a wonderful sweet onion to grassy aftertaste leading to a slight refreshing finish.
On the palate, this one sat right about a good medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation seemed to be spot on for the style and for me.
Overall, what a wonderful AIPA that I would bang again.

Draft pour at Special Brews. Listed as Fort George Wet hop IPA. Everthing else the same. Pours a hazy dark orange color with a really nice freshly picked hop aroma. So much hop flavor here. Slightly bitter hops, but there is a nice sweet orange flavor in there to balance it out. I love fresh hop beers. Solid UPDATE: 16 oz can, brought up extremely fresh from Oregon. Thanks Tcon! It’s cool to try a beer like this a couple years later, as my appreciation for a good fresh hop has evolved. Looks like I knew a good one a few years ago just as much as I do know. Delicious orange fruit and hop combo. Crusher IPA. Awesome.

16 oz tallboy. Canned about two weeks ago! Aroma is fresh hoppy goodness; it really does smell like hops freshly plucked from the vine. Tropical fruity hops abound. Pours clear old gold with a large pillowy white head with great retention, leaving some nice lace. Taste is bittersweet and earthy; its sweetness is candy-like and its bitterness not extreme but definitely keeps the sweetness in check. Carbonation is fairly soft, body is medium to light. Really nice. Get it while it’s fresh for sure, I don’t think this will last more than a month past the canning date and still taste this fine.
