Deep oak, super sour cherries, cherry pits in the nose. Deep sourness with cherries, cinnamon, cherry pits, oak, dry and puckering with great depth. Very similar to the cranbarrel. The cherries and cinammon just linger and linger

Poured from a 375 ml bottle. Aroma is rather fruity and cherry forward with some light tannins, skin and pit notes. Medium oak notes. Hints of citrus and pineapple. Faint mustiness and a hint of a peppery phenolic note. Pours a hazy, murky, cranberry red color with a medium large, thin, frothy pink head that recedes quickly and disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor is very cherry forward with deep, rich, tart cherry notes. Spicy phenolic notes and tannins form the skins and pits. Medium light oak with hints of citrus. Light sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a great expression of the Balaton cherry. Light notes of the base beer in the background and complimentary oak notes. A bit one dimensional.

Bottle - Cherry and a bit medicinal. Cloudy redish copper with a small white head. Soured cherry, bit of burnt rubber and a long cherry finish.

375ml bottle (thx, Rick P.!) at Matt's. Pours a hazy deep red with a white head. Aroma is very nice with lots of cherries, very similar to Cantillon Kriek, but much sweeter. Taste is very dry with lots of sweet cherries, but quite woody and dry at the same time. It is very nice beer that I would like even more it would be less woody.

Has some haze, no head. Has a fairly abundant cherry aroma. Just a light carbonation. It's got some sweet cherries, moderate acidity, nutty notes from the pit but for me that element is a bit harsh. Dryish finish, with a fair bit of oak. That sort of bitter, pitty, woody character is too prominent, while that nice sweet sugary cherry is downplayed a bit too much. So the balance isn't quite there for me, despite there being a lot of good elements.

375mL bottle, pours a bright pinkish ruby red with a small pink head. Aroma brings out lots of wood, dry cherry skins, and light acidity. Flavour is very complex, quite similar to Cantillon Kriek in fact, with lots of fresh dry cherries, funk, tons of dry wood and light acidity. Bone dry, with a bit of a sharp astringency. Beautifully balanced and elegant on the palate. Wonderful.

Bottle poured into a wineglass showing moderately filtered light cherry red with half a finger of quickly dissipating clean white foam. The nose shows strong tart notes of juicy forward cherry. The palate is highly carbonated and light bodied. Extremely cherry forward with a strong oak background. Moderately tart and lightly sweet throughout. More cherry on the finish. Fantastic.
