Draft. Hazy golden beer with a cream head. Yeast and light lemon aroma with a floral note. Lemon and floral note flavor with tartness. Medium bodied. Lemon and herbal notes linger with tartness/light sourness.

Hazy and dull. Not much head. Bretty and spicy...the propolis house character. Quite tart, but there's also some toffeeish element to the malts. Still ends up tart, bretty and woody but I'm thinking a maltier base than some of the others.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of earthiness, barnyard funk, and saison yeast. Flavour is very earthy and somewhat spicy, with barnyard funk, brett, saison yeast and earthy spiciness. Nicely balanced, with a good yeast profile showcasing. Very good.

Draft pour at Hop and Hound. As with all Propolis beers, I’m hesitant to pay the super premium for a bottle. Unless it’s a Sahti, and in haven’t had one yet. No longer the case, I try the affordable half draft instead. This is a much less eventful try than some previous raters. My story is that I randomly ended up here on a Monday after work. My tasting experience on nettles is extremely limited. Aroma seems spicy. Flavor seems floral. Overall seems weird. Dry finish. Malty. Oak? Honey? I don’t know what to think here. Very different. Strange to say the least.

I just had a kid about 19 hours ago. To celebrate my wife’s awesome work and sobriety for close to a year, I went to Chucks to pick her up a Blvd Saison-Brett. Fortunately they have the 2014, batch which is even better. Of course, I had to grab a beer since I am here. So, I went with the most special beer on tap. This is the 2016 version. As per all the other propolis beers, it’s not as good as I want it to be. It’s a bit cidery. I’m not sure what nettles taste like but I may like his novel flavor I’m getting. its not bretty but apple juice sour. A little poop. Lighter beer. Was the base a dubbel? I wouldn’t be able to tell. Murky Lipton tea color. Should have drank something a bit more special for the first beer after a kid. Probably the Blvd sometime soon with the wifey. Let’s make believe I drank that first and this second.
