2020-06-19, can from Firefly, Vancouver, 7-4-8-4-16=39
Hazy blond colour. Light fruit in the aroma. The body is lean, light residual sweetness, crackery malts, and a pretty good hopping, tropical and piney, balanced; if anything, the alcohol is not completely hidden, and there's a bit of onion/garlic vibe.
Very good.
2017-07-16, draught at the brewery and bottle, new batch, 8-4-8-4-16=40
Grape and piney resins, mildly sweet, balanced. I may sense some vegetable bitterness in the final.
I'm glad that this new batch too is very good.

Hazy gold color with small head. Very nice aroma of Mosaic, resiny, pungent, aggressive. Lean body and yet sweet; the malt profile is multi-layered, there is some biscuity malt, some crackery malt; strong resiny hops with citrus peel (grapefruit, yuzu, tangerine); powerful and clean.
Excellent IIPA.

650ml bottle ((thx, George) from BCL at Park Royal with George. Pours a slightly hazy deep golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet with tropical fruits notes. Taste is similar with moderate to high hoppy bitterness. Good stuff.

Poured from 650mL bottle. Clear golden orange with off white head. Aroma of dank tropical hops. Taste of light citrus and pine hops, subdued dank tropical hops, mild biscuit malt rounds it all out. Finishes fairly resinous. Overall nicely balanced, albeit slightly mellow.

New rating (Jun. 2020). 473mL can, pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma is loaded with piney hops, some resins, and gentle caramel malt. Flavour is bursting with piney and resinous hops upfront, backed with chewy caramel malts. Really fantastic balance betwen the hops and malt. Even better than I remember it upon first release three years ago. Old rating (Mar. 2017). 650mL bottle, pours a hazy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney and citrusy hops upfront, with a dry biscuity malt base. Flavour is quite pleasant, with dank piney hops upfront, followed by a little citrus, and dry biscuity malt. Dank and piney on the finish, with a pleasant bitterness on the finish. Really good. One of Deep Cove's best.

Amber colour, just a touch of haze. No head. The aroma has a nice mix of the two hops, drawing gooseberries, litterbox and a fairly assertive weedy note. The malts come across mellow and a bit of crystal. Rich pithy orangey hops, touch weedy, with a fairly sweet malt character. The malts come on strong, but the hops are right there with them. I like this. Good quality DIPA.
