Mooch tasting at Matt's
Dark brown color. Earthy caramel and chocolate aroma. Good body, but the flavor is just based on caramel, with too strong earthy tones, moderately sweet, green pepper, vegetables.
Very messy.

Bottle - Cocoa and some toasted malts. Deep brown with a small light brown head. Sweet malts, cherry and woody notes and bitterness. Dry bitterness is a bit overwhelming.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany / near-black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out dark cherries, a touch of coffee and booze. Flavour is along the same lines, with light coffee, dried cherries, and liqueur. Quite boozy, with a sweet, dark fruity finish. Nice stuff.

Dark brown. Not much head. Cocoa, with a light fruity note. This is quite bitter, with a cocoa note, just a touch of fruit, and some sweeter, sort of figgy malts. Not bad, but a little bit unbalanced. The alcoholic strength is evident, but doesn’t add to the beer.

12 oz bottle from Bottleworks, Seattle. Nose is roasty, bitter expresso with musty wood and background cherries. Clear reddish brown with a big heavy lacing cinnamon tan head. Flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter, with a little smoky, roasty coffee. Nice #
