375 ml bottle in a trade with Jstax, thanks Jeremy! 2017 vintage. Murky brown color, no head. Aroma shows sour oak, weak bourbon, cherry skin. The body is lighter side of medium with a oily/ slick mouthfeel. Flavor is the aroma with oak showing as the main character. Hints of figs. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Pretty much the most mellow barrel aged Jackie O's I have ever sampled.

375ml pours a dark caramel brown with a ring of beige head. Nose is wicked boozy, cheap whiskey, raisins, some soggy wood, some tobacco leaf. Flavor has some sweetness, malt, caramel, bread, whiskey, wood, tobacco, soil. Full bodied, boozy finish. Maybe this can mellow, but its a mess as is.

Sample at the brewpub during the ’Appervation Bottle Release’ on 05/24/2017. The beer pours a clear dark reddish-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Bourbon, malt and dark fruit in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, caramel malt, dark fruit and a bit of earthy hops. The finish is oaky with a bourbon and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.
