Bottle. Dark brown color. Foamy head. Malt, roast, caramel and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweetish, roasty caramelly flavor. Slightly alcoholic. Very well brewed roasty doppebock.

Bottle @ home shared with Ansjelaah. Pitch black coloured beer with a fairly large sized light brown head. Smells roasty, malts, sweet, chocolate. Tastes very roasty, malty, slightly toasty, sweet, a hint of liquorice and some alcohol. Full body, medium carbo.

Bottled, BB 20-02-14, large sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, hint of mocha, dark chocolate. Medium bitter in taste, touch of biscuity sweetness. Wow, I was not expecting this. Lots of roasted malts almost turning this into a stout. Full bodied. Quite fruity finish. As I had no expectations, I was pleasantly surprised.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark brown with a reddish hue and a frothy tan head. The aroma is creamy caramel malt and yeast. The flavour is medium to strong bitter. Medium to full bodied, lively carbonation and a creamy texture with a bitter sweet, spicy hop palate. Very drinkable, but could probably use less bubbles.

On tap @ PINT Bokbier Fest 2012. Black color, soapy head. Aroma’s: heavy roast, coffee, hints of cooked vegetables (not detectable retronasal). Flavor is rather sweet, roasted. Body is medium. Finishes with more roast, bitter, laurel. Nothing to do with bockbeer, and no balance between aroma & flavor, but still rather nice.

Bottle shared from ABC Beers. Pours almost black with a bubbly tan head. Aroma of burnt malts, dark chocolate and a little caramel. Flavour is fairly heavy sweet, a little fresh and sugary with a light bitterness hidden behind. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
