Pint can, courtesy of Alex, pours with a deep copper to amber colored body that supports a full near tight yet somewhat fluffy tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweet malts  sweet smelling nuttiness, earthy tea like hops and then a quick flash of prune like fruity esters. The taste delivers smooth sweet malts, sweet molasses, a sweet crystal malt note, a light sweet nuttiness and then earthy tea blended with an earthy tobacco leaf note. Another swig reveals some spicy black strap molasses intermingled among the various earthy notes. Solid beer where I'm really enjoying the malts and earthiness.

Oxford tasting
Beautiful red amber color. The aroma is mild, a bit dusty, light resiny hops. Lean, light caramel, resiny hops, a bit earthy in the final.
Good.

Tall can from Elizabeth Station at Alex’s. Pours a hazy amber with a tan head. Aroma is hops, caramel and roasted malt. Taste is bitter with roasted malt and some chocolate notes. Interesting and unusual.

Amber, with a bubbly head. Earthy, has some toast and citrusy. Definitely imperial red, but a relatively well-balanced one that you can actually drink a pint of.

On tap at Elizabeth Station, pours a hazy orange amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out a nice blend of resinous hops and caramel malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of resinous hops and lightly sweet caramel malts providing good balance. Not quite a IIPA, but definitely a nice hop forward hoppy strong ale. Nice stuff.

On Tap at the Bellingham brewery. Slightly hazy deep redish brown. Thin beige head. Big piney bitter aromas and flavors. Woody sharp malts and a lingering biter bite. Full bodied and malty.

16 oz can. No singles available. Gotta buy the 4 back. Yeah, I was going for the pack anyway. Maybe more than one. How can a beer with these two breweries, and all the other inspiration involved, possibly be less than amazing. Dark copper reddish pour with a ton of foam head and lacing. A hop explosion aroma after opening this can. Head lasts. Flavor is a bold and bitter hop constant. Love the profile here. Australian hops, can’t really go wrong. Caramel background. Imperial red IPA? Imperial hoppy red ale? American strong Ale? Whatever it is, it’s really good.
