Canada’s most eastern province is Newfoundland, and taking a north eastern take on the hefeweizen style, this beer was brewed with new-age tropical hops to give a fruity, aromatic twist on the classic German style.

Watery, not much hefe character, strong pineapple flavour and Aroma. Honestly taste like a run of the mill wheat beer with pineapple juice added. Meh.

330ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that laces. Sweet aroma of wheat malt, banana, clove, tropical fruit and yeast. Sweet flavour of wheat malt, banana, lemon, pineapple, clove and light yeast with a dry, bitter hop finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and average carbonation. A bit of a miss. The addition of tropical hops had a negative instead of positive outcome on this beer.

Bottle from the LCBO (Central City Across the Nation Collaboration pack). Hazy pale gold under a small lingering white head. Muted nose has some banana and cloves along with a touch of tropical fruit and citrus. Light sweet malt with a light+ pineapple bitterness and some spice. Mouth is a touch thin with average carbonation and a lightly tart and spicy finish. Not quite a Hefe but interesting. 6/3+/7/3/13

Bottle: Poured a clear yellow color Weizen with a medium white foamy head with OK retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light sweet malt notes with some minor tropical hops notes. Taste is a refreshing mix of sweet wheat malt notes with light bubble-gum ester with some minor tropical hops notes. Body is light with OK carbonation. Enjoyable with limited complexity.

Draught at Red Racer Restaurant, Vancouver
Cloudy pale blond color. Mild aroma of cloves and wet stale bread. A bit sour for the style, some cloves.
Not bad, but off the mark.

On tap at Central City on Beatty, pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of banana esters and a touch of clove. Flavour is very half-hearted, with light banana and moderate sweetness. Weak, estery and overall just bad.
