New Brunswick was largely founded by French descendents and United Empire Loyalists which inspired the province’s motto "Spem reduxit", meaning "hope is restored". For this reason, we have brewed the classic English style of an extra special bitter.

Grassy hops, bready, biscuity malts, creamy mouth feel and solid carb. Medium bitterness, wonderful UK hop presence, and satisfying malts. Excellent example of a classic Esb.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear amber with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves plenty of lace. Sweet aroma of bready malt, wheat and caramel. Sweet flavour of biscuit malt, caramel and orange with a hoppy, bitter grass finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Enjoyable.

Bottle from the LCBO (Central City Across the Nation Collaboration pack). Clear medium copper with a small slow fading off white head. Nose is light caramel, dough, grass, some spice and light fruit. Flavour is a bit more assertive than the nose with a light toffee sweetness and medium- grassy hop bitterness with some mineral bite and a touch of spice. Mouth is medium creamy with average carbonation and a lingering bitter finish. Decent ESB. 6+/3+/7+/4/14+

Bottle: Poured a clear light brown color ale with a medium size foamy head with light retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of light dry caramel malt with some soft floral hops notes. Taste is a mix of light dry caramel malt with some subtle floral hops notes. Body is average for style with good carbonation. Enjoyable but not really spectacular.

Golden-amber. Touch of fruitiness, and a bit crackery. Touch fruity, not bad.

On tap at Central City on Beatty, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out light English bready malt and a touch of earthy hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with subdued English hops and bready malt. Pleasant but lacking in depth. It's okay.

Draft - Malts and a touch of twig. Clear gold with a decent white head. Upfront bitterness and I am getting coffee notes as well.
