Slightly hazy dark amber, with a bubbly head. Not much nose but a pretty rye-oriented palate. Not a ton of other character, maybe a moderate bitterness, but the rye sort of drags this average beer along.

Draught at Callister, Vancouver
Hazy dark amber color, no apparent head. Not much going on in the aroma, maybe a bit earthy, but the mouthfeel is lean, the rye provides a moderate spicy note without being earthy, and I get a lot of hop resins (hoping they are not from the previous taster). Some vegetable bitterness in the final.
Decent. Still, I don’t get the spasmodic love of Vancouver for rye in beer.

On tap at Callister, pours a cloudy dark orange amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out subdued earthy rye, light spicy hops and bready malt. Flavour is herbal and vegetal, with earthy hops, crunchy vegetables and some earth. Not an overly pleasant hop expression, nor is the rye overly prominent. Not very good.

Draft - Grapefruit and some piney notes with a touch of rye. Clearish copper with a small white head. Citrus peel, some woody notes and a bit of a boozy kick.
