As the winter sun hangs low in our sky, solar filaments, giant arcs of cool, dense plasma explode from its surface. Filament Winter IPA celebrates this cosmic wonder. Pale, Munich, and Caramel malts create a rich malt character with a honey-like flavor. A bounty of Crystal, Chinook, and Centennial hops combine to lend spicy, citrus hop notes.

12 oz. Aroma is cantaloupe, floral, orange rind, wet stone. Pours hazy orange with a one finger bone-white head with decent retention. Taste has a moderate pithy bitterness with a light candy sweetness alongside, with biscuity malt overtones and grapefruity, piney hop flavors and a sense of menthol-like coolness. Prickly, nearly harsh carbonation. Good.

Bottle - Bright citrus peel and some light herbal notes. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Citrus and some bitter malty notes with a touch of herb.

650ml bottle at Matt’s. Pours a hazy amber with a tan head. Aroma is sweet with some strange herbally notes. Same very weird taste. Baaad.

Hazy, amber. thin head. It foamed right up, and ends up being quite infected on the nose. Not sure what’s up, but it’s infected. Burnt electrical wire and phenolic paints and shit. Fizzy. Same infected issues. Yikes. Can’t drink this.

22 oz. bottle, seems infected as it pours a cloudy dark orange with a massive beige head with too good retention. Aroma is loaded with spicy hops, tons of yeast, and sulphur. Flavour is very yeasty, with earthy hops, muddy yeast soup and sulphur. Obvious something wrong with this. Not impressive.

22 oz bottle shared by Alex. Thanks! Pours a cloudy golden orange color with a lasting fizz head. Sweet caramel like aroma. Flavor is a very nice balance of hops and toasty malts. Ideal winter IPA. Very tasty.

Keg at the taproom, 08/11/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is pale malts, orange, straw, light grapefruit, earthy hop notes. Taste comprises madarin, straw, orange pith, light bread dough, caramel malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semui drying close. Ok easy drinker but lacks any hop presence and depth.
