Bottle - Big oily orange and peel with some cardboard. Clear orange with a small white head. Orange and sweet notes, but no grapefruit. Seems a bit stale.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of ascorbic grapefruit and citrus hops. Flavour is along the same lines, with piney and citrusy hops, with plenty of grapefruit. Simple and a bit old-tasting (not because the bottle is old, just that it's flat). Not very impressive.

Hazy, amber. Not much head on this one. Really earthy, piney aroma. Not getting much grapefruit, though if I did I’m not sure it would work anyway. The grapefruit does show up in the sweetness, but the underlying beer is that sort of earthy, cheesy stale hop thing. The malts are a bit kludgey. I don’t know. This doesn’t really come together all that well, a sweet grapefruity overlaid on an old fashioned, somewhat stale, IPA.

650ml bottle at Matt’s. Pours a slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruits with sweet black tea notes. Taste is the same. Thick body. Quite good stuff.

22oz bottle. I purchased this, well, I don’t know why. I have a small soft spot for Mac and Jack’s, plus this bottle was a bit of a deal. Its around town fro $9.99 but I found this for $8.49 at QFC plus a 10% discount for buying 4 bombers. So, that combo made this a worthwhile enough purchase. The thing about Mac & Jack’s beers is that there are bars in town that carry a hand full of craft beers. Almost always Manny’s, Mac & Jack’s and a rando other beer. Usually, this includes a Blue Moon or something. But in the rare times I find myself in these bars I am happy to see the Ibis. Its a decent IPA especially at the availability. That is why I wanted to try the grapefruit version. A little stripped out IPA with a grapefruit zest aroma. Flavor is similarly light with medium bitterness. Ends light and rather short aftertaste. A clean, if not memorable, IPA with grapefruit zest aroma. Definitely the better choice at a bar with only Manny’s or M&J Amber as alternatives.
