Tasting at Oakes' Manor
Dark brown colour. Weird aroma, soil, some chocolate, some sourness. Mild chocolate flavor, the body is on the weak side, a bit earthy (which I don't necessarily like), but ok.

Rerate at a much higher score than before.

Dark brown. No head. The nose is a bit like bouillon with that meaty note, but also some sweeter chocolate character. On the palate, a bit roasty, some sweeter toffee notes, chocolatey syrup. All told, maybe not the most refined character, but there’s some decent elements in here. Moderate bitterness.

Bottle - Dark roast and toast with some chocolate. Jet brown with a small light brown head. Lots of roast and toast with a nice finish. Solid for the style.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy deep dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out toasted malt, light English hops, and dry cocoa. Flavour is smooth, with dry cocoa, toasted malt and some light roast. Smooth palate, and very easy to drink.

Nice dark velvet body with little head. Soft cooked grain aroma but nothing else. Flavour is spicy barley notes woth no finesse and a watery finish. Simple and drinkable but that is it.
