Nice spicy tripel, just a touch of tanginess, some floral notes, clear golden body with active carbonation. Decent fluffy head shrinks to small lasting head. A tripel with a little bit of bite.

750 mL bottle from Beer Run. The cork was a real bitch to get out. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium sized fizzy white head. Fair head retention. Aroma of yeast, candi sugar, cotton candy, candy apples, stone fruits, a faint bit of tart citrus. The taste is dry pale malts, tart fruits, tannic notes, yeast, strong spice in the finish. Medium bodied, lingering spice, moderate carbonation. Straightforward but well made.

750 ml bottle into chalice, no bottle dating. Pours lightly cloudy golden amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Aromas of pear, apple, apricot, grape, candi sugar, honey, bread, clove, light pepper, floral, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of pear, apple, apricot, grape, honey, candi sugar, bread, clove, light pepper, floral, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of light fruits, candi sugar, honey, bread, clove, light pepper, floral, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Good complexity of malt and yeast ester flavors; with a good malt/yeast flavor balance and minimal cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and fairly full bodied; with a slick and moderately syrupy mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a small warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very solid tripel style. Good balance and complexity of malt and yeast ester flavors; and fairly smooth to sip on for the big ABV. An enjoyable offering to sip on slowly.

Bottle at the De Molen July 2nd Tuesday tasting. Poured a clear rich amber with a bubbly white head and lots of carbonation. The aroma is sweet and yeasty. The flavour medium sweet, with caramel, toffee and a zesty, bubbly palate. There is a little liquorice bitterness in the finish.

Bottle @ ZZT VII, thx to everyone for sharing their bottles. Aroma of pilsner malt. Hint of faint flowery hops. Butter. Just as it is hard for Belgian brewers to make a typical American IPA, it is tough for Americans to make a decent Belgian style. Too much spices and yeast esters.
