A heavy, copper colored, bittersweet and extreme hopped beer.

Extase is a Double IPA with a blend of fourteen excellent hops, very intense and with a balanced character. The slight sweetness of the malt sugars and the alcohol complement the bitterness of the beer. Extase does up to its name with its extreme hoppiness (over 100 IBU). A beer with stratification: because of the diversity of hops the beer tastes something differently with the gradual warming by every sip. A delight for every ‘hophead’.

Bottle from Bottle Baron (2016) and Bruges Beer Festival (2023). Hazy golden/amber body with a thick creamy head. Good lacing. Aroma of sweet mango, orange, honey and pine. Flavour of overripe peach, marmalade and dried apricot. Medium body with a chewy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Well balanced and goes down easily for the ABV.

Hatalmas, tartós hab, szűretlen, borostyán szín. Intenzív, virágos, fenyős, gyümölcsös illat. Markáns keserű, déli gyümölcs, némi gyanta. A magas alkoholt egyáltalán nem érezni. Jól kiegyensúlyozott, intenzív ízvilágú, testes, finom sör.

Hazy amber colored, medium creamy white head, good lasting and lacing. Aroma is of some caramel and biscuit, mostly tropical fruits, spicy yeast. Taste is medium sweet caramalt, tropical fruits, some floral notes, spicy, strong bitterness, quite yeasty, dry finish, bit of alcohol. Medium bodied, average carbonation, oily. Too bitter, too phenolic and way too yeasty... this is after second tasting, cause the first bottle wasn’t even hoppy (that one was from a tourist bottle shop in Brugge which is probably not the best place for hoppy beer...). Disappointed. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)
