A heavy, copper colored, bittersweet and extreme hopped beer.
Extase is a Double IPA with a blend of fourteen excellent hops, very intense and with a balanced character. The slight sweetness of the malt sugars and the alcohol complement the bitterness of the beer. Extase does up to its name with its extreme hoppiness (over 100 IBU). A beer with stratification: because of the diversity of hops the beer tastes something differently with the gradual warming by every sip. A delight for every ‘hophead’.

Bottle at Nuetnigenough, 6,50€. Dark orange color, very murky, massive white head expansive rocky and not with willing to settle. Huge hoppy nose. Aroma is resin, a LOT of hops with massive juicy malt foundation as well as a lot of yeast. As the best in class, plenty of caramel malt, a little burned, fruity tones of ripe fruit, exotic, flowers, grapefruit, ginger, apricot, mango, balsamic mountain herbs. Body is well, structured, full, complex, massive, relatively soft carbonation, creamy texture. Taste is just perfect, sweet juicy then violently bitter. Long smooth finish yet mildly dry. Wow, amazing, pure extasy indeed. Beware this is alcoholic. Stuff to have just once in a while or it will kill you (and won’t be bad tough...)

Hazy pale amber colour, small foamy off-white head, half-way lasting, good lacing. Aroma pale malts, caramel, toffee, grass, light honey, alcohol. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, caramel, grain, spicy notes. Sweetbitter aftertaste, light fruity notes, bit dusty, ends bit on the sharp side. Medium to full body, oily texture, average carbonation, very nice brew.

Fluffy off white head stayed on a hazy, finely effervescent, copper coloured body - looks fantastic. Spicy berry, citrus & tea aromas. Medium bodied, creamy on the palate - sharp on the back. Well carbonated. Cloying Bitter citrus, hoppy, spices, tea & under ripe fruit tastes. They complimented the faint malt hints that give it some similarities to an English IPA - albeit super hopped & flavoured.

APPEARANCE: slight dark ambar and slightly hazy. medium off-white head with medium retention. slight lace formation. TASTE: medium oxidized hops (dried grass/cheese), followed by a medium-low caramel malt flavor (oxidation). medium to medium-high bitterness with a bitter and almost dry finish. PALATE: medium body with medium carbonation. OVERALL: a double IPA past its best before date. with obvious oxidation notes. To be retasted.

From 33 bottle. Pours loaded golden with limited white foam. Aroma is rich: alcoholic, reminiscent of rum, similar to barley wine, nuts, spirits. Body is medium-dense, with virtually no carbonation. A bit of astringency. Taste is moderately bitter. Finish is long and enjoyable.
