A heavy, copper colored, bittersweet and extreme hopped beer.

Extase is a Double IPA with a blend of fourteen excellent hops, very intense and with a balanced character. The slight sweetness of the malt sugars and the alcohol complement the bitterness of the beer. Extase does up to its name with its extreme hoppiness (over 100 IBU). A beer with stratification: because of the diversity of hops the beer tastes something differently with the gradual warming by every sip. A delight for every ‘hophead’.

Bottle courtesy of Deanso. Poured a cloudy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is rich malty with a little alcohol and toffee. The flavour is strong bitter, with a liqourice, alcoholic, malty, smooth palate. A superb beer with a loads of flavour.

Bottle split at JF’s, thanks James, 23/08/13. Very lightly hazed golden with a big odl light beige head bubbly head. Nose is toasted malts, hops, citrus, grass. Taste is caramel malt forward, candied sugars, hops, grass, orange peel, citrus fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with hop bitterness. Decent stuff.

Bottle from Dranken Geers, Oostakker, nr Gent, Belgium consumed outside ’Frank’ (camper) at Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Saturday 24th August 2013 Hazy dark gold, with a very hoppy up front citrussy nose. Great bittersweetness, hoppy burps aplenty. Soft in the mouth, juicy with plenty of fresh citrus. Great beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Enjoyed at the 4de Gents Bierfestival, 2013. The 33cl bottle pours with an opaque deep copper body that has thin gold edges and supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up semi thick sweet malts mixing with citrus notes and some lime peel as well as pleasing malt sweetened dank onion and earthy tea. Yes. I like this hop combination. The taste hits with an enjoyable mix of tangerine and other various citrus notes and earthy tea too. This begins to smooth out to midway where a bit of hop onion dankness is noticed before the citrus hops and some resiny pine surge forward and into the finish. Good stuff. If you have a hop “itch” this will scratch it.

22 oz bomber @ home, on International IPA Day. Hazy orange color. Dense, rocky, off white head with some retention. Aroma’s: flowery hops, some resin/pine & citrus, some malty sweetness. More citrussy retronasal. Flavor is bitter, with malty sweetness for balance. Medium to full bodied. Long, herbal & bitter finish. Really excellent!

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, BBE 04/2014
Aroma is somewhat heavy with sweet fruitiness, resiny notes and some caramel. Flavour is somewhat sweet with caramel, fruity hops and distant gluey notes. Also some apricot. Hints of alcohol too, but it is not that disturbing. Too heavy, too sweet? I cannot tell.

330ml bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu, Tampere

Pours clear orange with a bubbly head. Aroma of floral hops, apricose, sweet stingy fruity hops and caramely malts. Taste is sweet, malty and floral with notes of stingy fruity hops and toffee. Finish is floral, malty and stingy with lingering bitterness and fruity caramely notes. Quite floral DIPA.
