Barley Wine Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels

Black currant, dark cherry, leather and tobacco sit upon notes of plums and dates. En Rouge was fermented with wine yeast and aged for one year in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels giving this Barley Wine style ale a unique flavour profile and slightly tannic finish.
Just like you, this beer ages well.

Poured from 650mL bottle [2016]. Light amber brown with off white head. Tastes like a below average brown ale with hints of red wine.

Brown color, small head. Not much of a Barley Wine, just a strong dark ale, with caramel, moderate sweetness, hint of chestnut honey; and not even a clear red wine barrel, more of just a mild earthy character. Not as bad as the En Blanc, but still a very rough beer, showing very poor skills and vicious sales management.

Bottle - Toffee and some barrel notes. Deep cloudy brown with a small frothy beige head. Toffe and some woody notes with hints of cinnamon. Better than whit, but not by much.

650mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out earthy notes, with a touch of vinous notes. Flavour brings out a little tobacco, some minor red wine and a touch of wood. Weak and underwhelming, but fairly pleasant. Okay.

Light brown. Thin head. The aroma is a bit odd - sort of vinous and woody, but very sweet on the palate. You get this really heavy barley wine sweetness, not balanced by much, even though it’s quite woody. The vinous character fades down a little bit, but really there’s not much semblance of balance to this.

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark red/mahogany with moderate head. Aromas of vinous wood, dark tart berries, brown sugar, and a little alcohol. Flavors of sweet sugary malts conflicting with acidic vinous wood. Acrid finish.
