Tap, Cafe Morshuis Albergen. Served very cold. Malty flavor with hints of grape sugar. Pear drups, just a hint of roasted malt, especially coming up in the aftertaste. Nice and easy going, like all new Arcen beers. Technically well made, but I expected more bite and more character.

Occasional beer made in 2005 for PINT’s 25th anniversary, with Munich, pale and wheat malts and two hop varieties (Perle and Magnum). Practically no head for some strange reason, only a thin layer of off-white bubbles after forcing, quickly dissolving again. Deep hazy copper colour. Complex and interesting aroma, a mix of apple, hay, orange, tomato, tobacco, cider, sherry, sulphur and caramel, but some of these odours seem to clash with each other. Smooth but flat mouthfeel due to the lack of carbonisation, sweetish caramel taste, resinous, a bit woody and smoky, nutty as well, leafy with mild herbal hop bitterness and warming alcohol in the end. Strange beer, clearly undercarbonized and definitely not a real tripel to me.

Amber colour, slight white rim. Aroma of white cheese (supermarket brie), mold, Madeira wine, malts and caramel. Sweet flavour, Madeira and raisins. Finish raisins and malt.
Aged quite well.
(From 75cL bottle @ ZZT VII, Oirschot. Thanks for sharing, joes!)

Bottle @ ZZT7 thx to joes. Orange to amber colour with a small white head. Smells cheese (brie), funghus, mold. Tastes caramel, sweet, quite nice actually. Medium body, low carbo.

Bottle shared by Joes @ ZZT VII. Clear rusty reddish color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, caramel, old malts, sweetness. Still, it’s not bad actually. Doesn’t taste like a tripel anymore, but not bad taste-wise.

Tasted at ZZT 7 thanks to Joes. Pours clear amber with no head. Aroma is mould upfront, with light malt and toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with no carbonation. Definitely past it’s prime.

75cl bottle from notes. Deep amber pour. A bit fruity. A decent triple but not great.

Draught. Malty aroma, some breadiness. Clear dark brown colour. Small, stable, light brown head. The flavour is quite sweet, turning pumpkin.

Copper coloured beer with adequate coppergreen shine and rather heavy carbonation to cream-coloured good & dense head, with confluent bubbles, leaving some lace, rather stable. Sharp cookie malt nose, bit of dark candi sugar, bit grassy and wheataroma. Sharp taste of greenmalt, arachide, spiced cookies, bit of "wet dog" aroma and some oxydized and sulphury notes, timid esters. Green herbs and shrubbery. Warming up, very markedly alcohol and alcoholsweet. Sharp impression has a MF component too, burning. Medium to well bodied. Gradually earthy notes build up, remaining long in the aftertaste, mellowed by alcoholwarming. Tastes very young, too herbal/grassy. Little doubt that laying down would mellow it, the alcohol helping; but what of the now already oxydized hints?

Tap, ABT cafe in Den Bosch. Clear amber color, short off-white head. Aroma of some caramel malt, bit hoppy. Weak taste of caramel malt. If this is the beer to celebrate the 25th anniversary of PINT, it’s a lousy celebrator...
