An East Coast style beer brought to the West Coast, this is a beer with tons of flavour and even more balance. The bitter hop flavours are balanced by the sweet fruit, the acidic fruit is balanced with the lactose sugar additions and the alcohol is balanced by the high final gravity. This beer is the perfect balance in every aspect that you can judge a beer.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold-yellow with yeast chunks that sink to the bottom and a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves soapy curtains of lace. Mild fruity aroma of grainy pale malt, pineapple, grapefruit and earthy yeast. Sweet fruity flavour of grainy pale malt, mango, lactose, pineapple, grapefruit, earthy yeast and light piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Juicy and enjoyable, but not getting much milkshake.

Foggy orange with a bit of foam. Very soft pineapple on the nose. Flavour is mellow grain with a sweet pineapple umbrella. Medium finish. Too subdued, murky as can be expected from this brewer.

Can. Mud with no head. Certainly pulling pineapple on the nose, and this has a mellow bitterness with vague tropical fruits. Ok... a muddy IPA but with no direction.

On tap at Darby's Gastown, pours an opaque filthy yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of lactose and tropical fruits upfront, with strong herbal hoppy bitterness. Flavour is on the sweet side, with lots of lactose upfront, followed by tropical fruits, and some resinous, piney hops on the finish. Nice incorporation of the lactose. Very nice stuff.

Draught at Darby’s Gastown, Vancouver; 12 oz
Murky blond-orange color with frothy head. Nice fruity aroma, fresh, juicy, a bit tropical. Moderately sweet, the malt profile is delicate, crisp, it’s very juicy, but also dirty on the palate, like the look suggests; tastes like a fruit candy. For the record, the aroma is more tropical, the flavor is more citrusy. After some sips, the milky lactose appears.
Pleasant somehow, put when you push the concept so much, the risk is that it becomes too artificial, difficult to find the beer here.

Draft - Milky citrus. Turbid yello gold with a decent white head. Sweet and a bit acidic citrus. Very creamy and a nice finish.

On tap at Darby’s with Sonnet. Pours a cloudy golden with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, some sweetness and lacto. Taste is the same, very smooth, with relatively low level of bitterness. Incredible!
